Do I need a Doctor’s referrel?
It is not necessary to make an appointment and we will often refer you back to your Doctor if we think you require further examination or tests. If using private health insurance please check your policy some require GP referral.
Will physiotherapy help?
This can only be answered after a detailed assessment by the physiotherapist. In the majority of cases we can help, however, if we do not think we can help, we will inform you and if necessary refer you to your GP or the most appropriate health care professional.
How can I pay?
The clinic accepts payment by cash or cheque with a cheque guarantee card . If you have health insurance we can in most cases invoice the company directly.
Can I park at the clinic?
Yes, we have free off-road parking at the clinic.
What hours do you work?
The clinic is open Monday to Friday 9.00am – 8.00pm and on Saturdays 9.00am – 12:30pm. If you require appointments outside these times this can be arranged.
What do I wear?
Loose and comfortable clothing that does not restrict your movement will be suitable for treatment sessions. You can bring a change of clothes, e.g. T-shirts and shorts are a good choice. During assessment and reassessment the problem area will need to be easily seen. For example, if you’re having problems with your lower back, your physiotherapist may want to examine this area and also the rest of your back or hips. Likewise, if you have problems with your knees, your physiotherapist will want to look at them while you walk. You won’t be asked to remove more clothes than is necessary, but you may need to undress to your underwear – you may wish to wear a similar alternative such as a sports bra/top and shorts. You can choose not to undress but this may influence how effective your treatment is because it is more difficult for your physiotherapist to see what is causing the problem.
What to bring to treatment sessions?
List of any current medications, any relevant medical reports, X-rays, scans, doctor’s referral letter if applicable. If you’re having problems that you think are caused by doing a certain movement or activity, your physiotherapist is likely to want to see you do this. It’s important to bear this in mind when you go to your appointment. For example, if you have pain when you run, take your trainers as your physiotherapist may wish to see you run.
How many sessions will I need?
This depends upon the nature of the problem as well as each individual. Your physiotherapist will advise you on this after a full assessment.
Can I request a female or male physiotherapist
Yes, we will accommodate your needs.
Can I bring a chaperone?
Yes, if you wish to you are welcome to bring a chaperone to accompany you to your treatment sessions. A parent or guardian must accompany all patients under 16 years old.
Do you provide home visits?
Yes. These can be arranged if you are unable to attend the clinic.
