Sports Injuries

Playing sport can result in the occasional injury. Some injuries improve with relative rest and a gradual return to sport. But what do you do when the same injuries return or pain doesn’t improve quickly enough? At Eccleston Physiotherapy Clinic we understand no matter what level or type of sport you are taking part in, this can leave you very frustrated. We specialise in getting to the root cause of the problem, rapidly resolving the pain and allowing you to return to sport quickly.

Our highly trained Physiotherapists will assess your needs and discuss a treatment plan that will addresses your current symptoms as well treat any underlying causes. Your treatment will be individually tailored to meet your needs for your sport.

Additionally, we find that by improving pain and decreasing the chance of repeat injury, performance is often increased. For example, we often see runners with a painful knee, but by changing how the foot hits the ground the forces on the knee are reduced and the efficiency of running improves as well as the pain. Less pain and improved running.

These are the common (but not limited to) sporting injuries we see at the clinic:

  • Tendonopathies
  • Post fracture rehabilitation
  • Ankle instability
  • Muscle strains
  • Neck pain
  • Back pain
  • Medial tibial pain (shin splints)
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Lateral/medial elbow pain (tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow)
  • Shoulder instability/trauma
