Dizziness and Vestibular/Balance Rehabilitation

Dizziness is a common complaint and can be quite a debilitating condition. Vestibular/Balance rehabilitation can improve these symptoms.

There are many pathologies that result in people experiencing dizziness, vertigo or a sense of being off balance. Balance is maintained by our visual, sensory systems working together. If one of these systems is not working optimally then we tend to lose our balance and experience vertigo or dizziness.

Vestibular rehabilitation aims to reduce the sensation of dizziness and improve balance. At Eccleston Physiotherapy clinic our Specialist Vestibular Physiotherapist will carry out a full assessment is to establish the cause of the symptoms, then a range of treatment/management strategies to suit your needs are suggested. These may include hands-on vestibular correction techniques, balance retraining, education and relaxation techniques. Exercises to encourage adaptation in the vestibular system are also included.
